What is a PCA Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a professional skin-resurfacing treatment that uses specialized exfoliating solutions to remove damaged outer layers of skin and stimulate healthy cellular renewal. As new skin emerges, most patients see improvements in texture, tone, clarity, and the appearance of fine lines.

Important: Skin may not visibly peel — and that is normal. Visible flaking is not required for results. PCA peels work at the cellular level. 02 Skin Preparation The skin is gently cleansed. A pre-peel solution may be applied to ensure even penetration and optimal results. |
03 Peel Application The peel solution is applied precisely. PCA’s self-neutralizing system requires no rinse to stop the acid. |

Will my skin visibly peel after treatment?
Not necessarily — and that is completely normal. PCA peels work at the cellular level, and many patients experience little to no visible flaking while still seeing improvements in tone, texture, and clarity. Whether or not visible peeling occurs, the treatment is working. The amount of shedding depends on your skin type, the peel selected, and your individual skin response.
What skin concerns can PCA chemical peels address?
PCA peels help with acne, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven texture, clogged pores, oily skin, and general dullness. The right formulation is selected based on your primary concern and skin type.
Are PCA peels safe for sensitive or darker skin tones?
Yes. The Sensi Peel® is specifically formulated for sensitive and ethnic skin types. The Pigment Correct Peel® is safe for Fitzpatrick types I through VI. Dr. Ivana will assess your skin before treatment to ensure the safest, most effective approach.
How many treatments will I need to see results?
Some patients notice improvement after a single treatment — particularly with the Acne Peel, which is clinically shown to deliver noticeable results in just one session. Most concerns benefit from a series of 3 to 6 peels spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart. Dr. Ivana will recommend a schedule based on your skin goals.
What should I avoid after a chemical peel?
Avoid excessive sun exposure (wear SPF 30+ daily), exfoliating products, picking at peeling skin, chlorinated water, and aggressive skincare actives (retinols, AHAs) until fully healed. Your detailed aftercare plan will be provided at your appointment.
Are chemical peels safe if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Certain peel ingredients are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Please inform our team of your status so Dr. Ivana can recommend a safe and appropriate alternative.
